Hayden served Kansas, area, well

Dear Editor,
The Tribune’s Jan. 20 article, “Wetlands program will grow in 2011,” noted the expanded benefits springing from the Kansas Wetlands Education Center at Cheyenne Bottoms.
To my mind, some of the recognition for the growth of Kansas Wetlands is due to the leadership of former governor, Mike Hayden.
His role has been pivotal in making the center happen, and while coordinating the creation of the center, he has helped to preserve a lot of local history.
