Suspect arrested after pursuit

A police pursuit that began shortly before 2:30 Sunday a.m. near 24th and Odell St. in Great Bend ended a short time later near 29th and Quivira Ave. Suspect Joshua Smith from Hays allegedly fled on foot but was later found and arrested, according to Lt. Williams Browne at the Great Bend Police Department.
The pursuit began with a traffic infraction, Browne said.
The Barton County Sheriff’s Office was called to write the accident report. According to BCSO information, Smith was driving a gold, 2001 Ford Taurus that went through a chain link fence and gate on ...
