Heartland Farm offers Fall Open Farm Day

PAWNEE ROCK — Heartland Farm will hold its annual Open Farm Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. Sponsors invite the public to bring a picnic lunch and spend the day. There is no charge for admission.
The 80-acre homestead is a ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace, a place for meditation, unusual workshops and prayerful retreat. Guests can walk a crop labyrinth or learn about sustainable living. In recent weeks the farm has been the site of a pottery workshop, and upcoming topics include chicken harvesting and natural cleaning products.
