Lonnie D. Wright celebrated his 95th birthday on Aug. 30 with a card shower.
Lonnie D. Wright was born on Aug. 30, 1919, in Cuthan, Texas. On Aug. 5, 1945, he married Alberta M. Fleske. He attended school in North Platte, Neb. He joined the Air Force in January 1940 and was an engineer gunner on the B17 of the 19th Bombardment Group 435th Bomb Squadron. He earned the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Presidential Citation, three stars and a Pearl Harbor Survivors medal.
