Sparks fly, interrupt dance class

Four feared dead after plane from Great Bend crashes in Tennessee

A private airplane that flew out of the Great Bend Municipal Airport on Monday afternoon crashed and burned around 5 p.m. in a field near Nashville, Tenn. There were no survivors, according to Tennessee news sources such as NewsChannel5.com, which also reported that the Gulfstream 690C was registered to Mid-Kansas Agri-Co in Pawnee Rock.

Man arrested inside Second St. house

Thursday morning, Great Bend police were again summoned to 1411 1/2 Second St., the scene of recent multiple shootings. This time, the reporting party said an unknown subject was trespassing on his property. William Ellington was contacted inside the house and was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The jail log lists Ellington as a Great Bend resident and he was booked on a Stafford County warrant for probation violation. He is being held without bond.
