Not everyone is what they appear to be as we meet a nun and her insane brother, as well a psychic, supposedly sent by Mom from the great beyond.

Kansas tragedy

On June 2, 2007, 18-year-old Kelsey Smith was abducted in broad daylight from an Overland Park department store and murdered. The abduction was captured on the store's security camera leaving little doubt of the emergency nature of the circumstances. Four days after she disappeared, authorities were able to locate Kelsey's body after her wireless provider released the "ping" or "call location" information from her cell phone.

Handbook, textbook adoptions approved by Great Bend school board

New handbooks that outline policies for Great Bend USD 428 students, teachers, athletics and activities were approved with little fanfare at Monday's Board of Education meeting. Superintendent Brad Reed noted that, in accordance with board policy, this was the second reading of the handbooks that were introduced at the March board meeting.

BCC trustees schedule meeting to discuss personnel

The Barton Community College Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in room F-30 on the lower level of the Fine Arts Building. The purpose of the meeting will be to hold an executive session for discussion of personnel.
