BCC's Dudek takes first at Garden Art exhibit
Steve Dudek was awarded the first-place Betty Sieler Award for his watercolor painting in the Wichita Garden Art Exhibit, which took place Feb. 23 through March 6. Dudek's painting was of roses from a photograph taken in the Great Bend Garden Club Memorial Rose Garden in the Great Bend Cemetery. He had two pieces accepted in the show.
Adult softball leagues forming
The Great Bend Recreation Commission is now forming it's Adult Softball Leagues. All interested persons should stop by the Recreation Commission office and pick up a team packet. Patients at the Heartland Cancer Center, Great Bend, will reap the benefits of a special fundraiser sponsored by the St. John High School Booster Club. SAN FRANCISCO - A federal judge on Thursday barred the jury at Barry Bonds' perjury trial from hearing angry voicemails the home run king left with his mistress during a stormy nine-year relationship. Prosecutors wanted to introduce the voicemails to show that Bonds was experiencing so-called "roid rage" when he left the messages demanding to know the whereabouts of Kimberly Bell.
