Dear Editor, I am the special projects coordinator for The Arc of Sedgwick County. Every year we run over 300 programs for individuals with disabilities. All of our programs are aimed at giving our clients new experiences so they may increase their socialization skills. One of our programs is called "Mini Tours." Menta A. Hofmeister
CLAFLIN - Menta A. Hofmeister, 88, died Dec. 20 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 7, 1922, at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles and Virginia (Reynolds) Eahart. On Oct. 12, 1947, she married Elmer Hofmeister in Parsons. He died Feb. 11, 2005. A long-time Claflin resident, she was an elementary teacher and a homemaker.

Bison to celebrate 125th
The city of Bison will celebrate its 125th anniversary on Saturday. The festivities will begin by digging up the time capsule at 2 p.m., which was buried near the old City Hall on Main Street during the towns centennial. This will be followed by a firemans water fight between the Bison and Timken volunteer firemen.
