The Rev. and Mrs. Jay Beuoy of Great Bend announce the engagement of their daughter, Gwendolyn Beuoy, to Matthew Unruh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Unruh of Dodge City.
Tom and Carolyn Humburg will celebrate their 40th anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on March 11 in the parlor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend. Hosts for the event will be their children and grandchildren, Charlotte Humburg; Richard, Amanda, Adleigh and Ashlee Humburg; and Sara Humburg. The couple request no gifts.

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Patricia Joan Brandt, 73, died Sept. 26 at Cheyenne Mountain Care Center, Colorado Springs, Colo. Born March 4, 1941 at Russell, she was the daughter of Paul and Virginia (Henshaw) Kanitz.
LINDSBORG - Henrietta Hilda Dirks, 95, of Lindsborg, formerly Scott City, passed away Sept. 26. Born March 15, 1919 at Lodge Pole, Neb., she was the daughter of Louis R. and Caroline (Wagner) Misegadis.
LARNED - Glenn Scott Presley, 66, died Sept. 21, at Mayo's St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Min. Born Feb. 8, 1948, in Wichita, he was the son of Glenn and Ruby Elzey Presley. On Dec. 31, 1967, he married Linda Walker in Marquette. She survives. After graduating from McPherson College, he moved to Larned to begin teaching high school industrial arts classes. He managed the Larned Swimming Pool for 25 years. He was a loving husband, a caring father, and a very proud grandpa.

Great Bend police officers and Barton County deputies were involved in a pursuit that began at 6:25 a.m. Saturday on West U.S. 56 and Railroad Ave.
A candle started a fire reported at 6:48 p.m. Friday at Will Power Fitness and Athletic Training, 2015 10th St., Great Bend Fire Chief Mike Napolitano said.
