Barton’s Shafer Art Gallery exhibits collection of historical signatures

It's not every day that someone can see something first hand that was signed by George Washington, but through the month of February patrons of Barton Community College's Shafer Art Gallery can see not only Washington's signature, but those of other famous historical figures such as Martin Van Buren and Zachary Taylor.

RUIDOSO, N.M. - Misti C. Berchek Anderson, 42, died Jan. 27 in Albuquerque, N.M. Born May 12, 1970 in Great Bend, she was the daughter of William J. Berchek Jr. and Roxanna L. (Reiser) Hartline. In 1989, she married Jay Anderson. They later divorced. Formerly of Great Bend, Sterling, Beloit and Lindsborg and Carlsbad, Calif., she was a waitress.
