Recycled Memorial Day flowers are being sold by Volunteers in Action. They are available week days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1025 Main, Room D 114, Great Bend, and at the RSVP thrift shop in Hoisington, which is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. These flowers have been fluffed by RSVP volunteers and will be sold at bargain basement prices. There are stems as well as sprays and arrangements. Proceeds will be used to fund a recognition event for RSVP volunteers.

HOISINGTON - The Hoisington Public Library will begin the 2013 Summer Reading Program on Wednesday, June 5. The Program's theme this summer is "Dig Into Reading". In addition to the hundreds of kids' books on the shelves in the Library, Summer Reading participants will be able to choose from 67 new books that were recently donated by The Libri Foundation of Eugene, Oregon.
