Back in elementary school when I was hand-writing my newspaper The Lewisburg Snoopy Nose, I never dreamed what sort of tools journalists would be using today.
Clearly, it MUST have been a video produced by America's enemies, a vicious piece of propaganda that was so outlandish it would have brought laughs 10 years ago. No one except indoctrinated citizens of communist countries would ever believe it.
Winter is officially here! The weather has cooled down, and some of the best little hunters have appeared on the scene. The short-eared owls are here! I saw the first one of this year yesterday evening at dusk on the Redwing Road. It is the time of the aerial hunters. Hawks, eagles, falcons and owls can be seen with a little patience.

CLAY CENTER – One of my highlights each Christmas is putting up the tree and trimming it out with lights and decorations. We start at the bottom and wind our way upwards finishing it off with the angel at the top. Then the drum rolls for the big test – plugging it in. When it all works and the tree lights up, it is a beautiful sight. Often I will sit in the living room with just the tree lights on gazing at their beauty.
Christmas will be a little merrier for children who might not otherwise have a package to open this year, thanks to a local non-profit agency and a Great Bend business.
