Helen Marie Weese, 80, died Dec. 3, 2010 at her Great Bend, Kansas, home. She was born June 2, 1930, at Pratt, the daughter of Lee and Mabel (Kilgore) Miller. She Married Calvin Levi Weese Oct. 24, 1948 at Pratt. He died Oct. 22, 2002. A Great Bend resident since 1955 coming from Pratt. Mrs. Weese was a Certified Medical Aide for 32 years at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Great Bend.

He graduated from Erie High School in 1937, from Parsons Junior College in 1941 and from Pittsburg State University in 1941.

John Frank Werner, 94, died Dec. 11 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born Aug. 27, 1919 in Odin, he was the son of John Baptist and Regina Philomena (Schmidt) Werner. On Oct. 5, 1952, he married Leona Lauren at the Viking Lutheran Country Church in North Dakota. A longtime Great Bend resident, he worked for the Barton County Road and Bridge Department and later served as a long term employee of the City of Great Bend Street Department.
