Woman charged in death of Mo. psychiatrist after Great Bend meeting

GLADSTONE, Mo. - A Texas woman accused in the shooting death of a psychiatrist in suburban Kansas City, Mo., Friday was taken into custody in Kansas. The shooting occurred after the alleged shooter and her husband of Lyons underwent a marriage counseling session in Great Bend with the dead woman with whom the husband was said to be having an affair.

New Chamber board member recognized

James L. "Jim" Boyce, 75, of Great Bend, passed away on Jan. 16. at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born on Oct. 25, 1936, in Lyons, he was the son of Louis and Mabel (Wieter) Boyce.
