The Barton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a head-on collision that claimed the life of a Hoisington teenager, Wednesday on U.S. 281 near the 4-H Building.

The Great Bend Senior Center's August potluck dinner will feature pizza. The dinner will be held at the Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave., at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9. The fee for the pizza is $1.50 and those planning to attend should call 792-3906 to make a reservation. Participants are asked to bring a covered dish and their own table service to the dinner.

Barton Community College representatives lent a helping hand Wednesday during the Stuff the Bus donation campaign for United Way of Central Kansas.
Barton Community College is offering a course to help people become more familiar with some of the basics of exploring the Internet. Classes will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. every Wednesday, Sept. 10 through Oct. 15, at the Center for Adult Education, 1025 Main St., room D-107, Great Bend.
Barton history instructor Linda McCaffery will teach a course via Barton's Silver Cougar Club titled "From Idealism to Disaster; 1920-1950." Classes will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. each Tuesday from Sept. 2 through Oct. 28 in room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building.

The United Way of Central Kansas held its 2015 Campaign kick-off on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Great Bend. With the theme "Lights, Camera, United Way in Action," there was a old Hollywood feek to the event.
