LARNED - Lloyd George Lewis, 92, known to many friends and family as "Bus," died Monday afternoon at Hays Regional Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack earlier in the day. Lloyd would have been 93 April 27. The previous Saturday Lloyd had driven to his son's and daughter-in-law's homes to watch his favorite team, the Kansas Jayhawks, play the Colorado Buffaloes.
MCPHERSON - Virginia Edna Marx, 85, died Feb. 21 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Oct. 14, 1925.
The Great Bend Recreation Commission's Lifeguard Training Class will be held March 20-25 at Barton Community College. This class is for any individual wanting to become a lifeguard.

ELLINWOOD - Teresa "Toni" Batchman, 87, died April 17, 2014, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born Jan. 19, 1927, at Milwaukee, Wis. Toni graduated from Colorado Springs High School. She married Vernon Batchman on Aug. 5, 1944, at Colorado Springs, Colo. He died Jan. 29, 1995. An Ellinwood resident since 1944, she was a homemaker and artist.
