GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Earl Dean Resner, 75, died May 29, 2013 at his home in Grand Junction, Colo. He was born March 2, 1938 at Barton County, the son of Edmund and Amelia (Wegele) Resner. Earl was baptized as an infant at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Milberger and was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Russell. He married Anita Marlene Robertson June 7, 1959 at Great Bend. Birdhouse Scavenger Hunt winner announced

Tracy Miller of Great Bend is this year's Birdhouse Scavenger Hunt winner of $100. Great Bend Convention and Visitors Bureau chairman Loren Unruh and president Cris Collier personally presented the cash to Miller. Program offered on pool, pond care

"Pond Care 101" will be presented 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, at the Great Bend Recreation Center, 1214 Stone St. This free presentation by Shawna Beran includes tips on maintaining a pool or backyard pond. Garret Fitzpatrick, program director for the Great Bend Recreation Commission, said Beran will cover topics such as water care, plants, fish and diseases. There will also be time for questions.

Marie Frances Erb 1926 - 2013

NESS CITY - Marie Frances Erb, 86, passed away at Atrium Medical Center in Corinth, Texas,near her daughter's home. Born on Nov. 14, 1926 in Toronto, she was the daughter of Curtis and Frances Reynard Williams, Sr. A graduate of Fort Hays State University, she was a school teacher, teaching in Woodson and Ness County schools. On June 1, 1950 she married Earl P. Erb in Fayetteville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2009.

Lillian Josephine Pryor, 105, died June 17, at Deseret Care Center in Pratt. Born July 28, 1907 at West Salem, Wisc. she was the daughter of Fred and Lillian (Weingarten) Seeger. On Dec. 20, 1941, she married Leonard Campbell Pryor in St. John. He preceded her in death in August 1979.
