J.J. Unruh and Anna Dirks Unruh Reunion
The descendents of Jacob John Unruh and Anna Dirks Unruh gathered for a reunion at the Red Coach Inn in Newton, on the weekend of April 15, 16 and ended activities with the celebration of the 80th Birthday of Velorris Boese, the first cousin to reach that milestone on Sunday April 17.

In its 10th year, Sunflower Bank's ABC: Be True to our Schools program resulted in the greatest donation total in program history, including $4,489 to Great Bend area schools and students.

In 1894, Birger Sandzén arrived at Bethany College in Lindsborg to teach languages and assist in the art and vocal music departments. He remained at Bethany for the remainder of his career, becoming the principal art instructor in 1899 and retiring in 1946. Throughout this period, and after he retired as Professor Emeritus, he was a prolific painter and print maker until his death in 1954.

Birdhouse Scavenger Hunt winner announced
Tracy Miller of Great Bend is this year's Birdhouse Scavenger Hunt winner of $100.
