We all know the answer to the title of this article is no. However, the reaction of some media outside of Kansas and other drought stricken areas implied that at the very least the worst is over. USD 428 Board of Education will meet at noon on Tuesday at Lincoln Elementary School, 5630 Broadway. Items on the agenda include, Principal Art Baker requesting approval to apply for a Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center School Field Trip Transportation Grant for Jefferson Elementary School; and certified teacher retirement and certified teacher resignations. Lincoln Elementary School Principal Misty Straub and other staff members will share information regarding the academic programs and the school improvement efforts at Lincoln.

Mother of the bride is Sandy Leuer of Cedar Falls, Iowa. Parents of the groom are David Hawkins of Potosi, Mo. and Laurie and Doug Isenhart of French Village, Mo.
Celestine W. Jacobs will celebrate his 90th birthday on March 29th with a card shower. Born in 1923 in Hoisington, he is the son of Casper and Mary (Schmidt) Jacobs. On May 20, 1947, he married Thelma Herrman. They were married 60 years when Mrs. Jacobs died in 2007. He worked for the Rush County Highway Department for 39 years until his retirement. His children are Raymond Jacobs and wife Marsha, Paula Kuhn and husband Jed and Duane Jacobs, all of Great Bend, and Kenneth Jacobs and wife Connie of Catawissa, Mo. He has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The 2015 Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo will be held Wednesday through Friday, April 8, 9, and 10, 2015 in Great Bend. The show is located at the Expo Complex west of town. The show hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 8th, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. on the 9th and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 10th with extended hours on Thursday.
