GBHS forensic team brings home 10 medals
The Great Bend High School Forensic Team competed in the Nickerson Forensic Tournament on Saturday, Febr. 26. Eleven students competed and brought home 10 medals. They had four State Speech Championship qualifiers and placed fourth overall in sweepstakes. 29 schools competed at the tournament. The rankings are as follows:

82d Airborne Returns from Afghanistan
The 82d Airborne Division has returned from Afghanistan after completing their missions over a two year period. This division has been America's No.1 fighting division since World War II, also highly decorated.

Jeremy and Mandy Keil of Great Bend announce the birth of their daughter, Victoria Lenae Keil on Dec. 17 at Promise Regional Hospital in Hutchinson. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 1/2 oz. and was 19 1/2 in. long.

Rufus P. Fimple will celebrate his 90th birthday with a card shower. He was born March 3, 1921, in Bacca County Colo. After graduating from Sterling High School, he attended Kansas State University on a track scholarship, until being drafted for military service.
