GENESEO -- Todd Merlyn Beneke, 50, died Feb. 4 at home in rural Geneseo. Born April 30, 1962, he was the son of Dale M. and Marlene E. Beneke.
Jerry Wendel presents an award for 25 years of service to Rosy Tomlin, director of the Great Bend Senior Center, Saturday, Feb. 2, which was also her birthday. The Senior Center, located at 2005 Kansas Ave., started Dec. 15, 1987, and Tomlin started working there on Feb. 2, 1988. The well attended gathering also celebrated years of service for other employees and volunteers at the center.
The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor a soup supper from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the American Legion Post No. 180, 1011 Kansas Ave., Great Bend. There will be four kinds of soup, as well as coffee or tea and dessert, for $6. Open to members and guests.

BEL AIRE - Christene Elaine carney, 81, died Feb. 2 at the Catholic Care Center in Bel Aire. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announce by Morell Funeral Home in Larned.
ELLINWOOD - Annalee Luebbers, 79, died Feb. 2 at the Good Samaritan Center in Lyons. Born Dec. 8, 1933 in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Schwamborn Kowalsky. In 1952 she graduated from Ellinwood High School. On May 4, 1952 she married Norbert Luebbers in Ellinwood. He died on March 24, 2012. A lifetime resident of Ellinwood, she was a cook for Ellinwood Grade School and a homemaker.
Melinda Suzanne Meyer, 49, died Feb. 2 at her home in Great Bend. Born Jan. 23, 1964 in La Crosse, she was the daughter of Richard and Twila (Basgall) Krom. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, she was the former owner of Mel's Antiques.
Roy L. Myers, 91, died Feb. 3 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Services are pending with Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Road, Great Bend, Kansas.
USD 112 to have soup supper
Seven Ellinwood High School band students recently attended the 20th annual Concert Band Clinic at Kansas State University. They went through an audition process upon arrival at the event. From the audition, the students were placed in six different concert bands.
