USD 428, Holy Family, Helping Hands and HeadStart Schools

The following meals will be served Nov. 4 through Nov. 8. The secondary schools also have available daily: Main dish second choices, chef's salad, combo lunches and choice of vegetables and dessert. The breakfast menu is offered only to students in USD 428. Menus are subject to change without notice. Milk served with all meals. All meals as offered meet USDA nutritional guidelines.

During the last decade, growth of U.S. agricultural exports to the European Union (EU) has been the slowest among this country's top 10 export destinations. If U.S. farmers and ranchers had an opportunity to compete, trade with the EU could become a growth market for them.

Vienna Boys Choir stop in Hays for Beach/Schmidt concert

The Encore Performing Arts Series is proud to announce a special off-series concert by the Vienna Boys Choir, an exclusive performance in Hays at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall on the Fort Hays State University campus.

Diabetes is a Family Affair

National Diabetes month is observed in November. The theme this year is "Diabetes is a Family Affair." Diabetes is a challenging disease that affects the entire family in many ways. If you are living with diabetes or have a loved one with the disease, family support is very important when it comes to managing diabetes and preventing serious health problems. It is also important to know that if you have a family history of diabetes – such as a mother, father, brother, or sister – you are at a greater risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

Sweet success: Students earn degrees, honors over summer

Nearly 630 students completed degree requirements from Kansas State University this summer. The graduates hail from 61 Kansas counties, 41 states and 31 countries. Of the university's newest graduates 18 also earned graduation honors for their outstanding academic work.
