Now that summer is here, we all look forward to home-grown vegetables and fruit from local growers. These fresh produce items are available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings on the library parking lot and on Thursday evenings during the Summer Street Stroll. Everyone loves fresh vegetables but sometimes the cost added on to regular grocery bills can be prohibitive. The Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program can be a solution. Veterans Service Representative in Great Bend

A Veterans Service Representative from the Kansas Commission on Veterans' Affairs will be at the Great Bend Kansas Works Center, 1025 Main Street, from 9:30 a.m. -2 p.m. on Thursday July 11, to assist veterans and their families in applying for VA benefits. The Kansas Commission on Veterans' Affairs is a state agency that provides free assistance to veterans and their families with veterans' benefits. Call 785-625-8532 for more information. Any veteran that served in Vietnam is encouraged to see the representative with their DD214 as they qualify for VA health coverage.

Pratt Community College Honor Roll

Pratt Community College announces the spring 2013 Dean's Honor roll. In order to be on the Dean's Honor Roll list at a student must be full time, taking at least 12 credit hours, and must have a 3.5 and 3.9 GPA.

HCC Honor Roll

Hutchinson Community College has announced the honor rolls for the Spring 2013 semester, including grades through the end of the interterm session. 1,327 students have been honored with selection to the two honor roll listings, with 626 achieving the Vice President's Honor Roll with at least a 3.5 grade point average for the semester.
