Four vehicles were involved in an accident that occurred when a pickup lost its load of hay bales at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday on K-96, about 1.5 miles west of Yoder in Reno County. TIMKEN - Donald D. "Donnie" Holopirek, 72, of Timken, died Jan. 25 at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson. Born July 27, 1938, in Rush County, he was the son of Ralph and Blanche (Smrcka) Holopirek. On Nov. 15, 1965, he married Frances Herrman at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Timken. A lifelong resident of Rush County he was a farmer, welder and a truck driver for the Rush County Highway Department before his retirement.
