An unknown person entered a power substation of Midwest Energy at 530 NW 30 Road, cutting two locks, it was discovered Monday morning. A Sunflower Electric power station at 335 NW 50 Ave. was also broken into. Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendier said nothing was taken, but the damage was reported to the Department of Homeland Security. "Transformer stations are part of the critical infrastructure," he explained.

This compares with the national average that has increased 4.0 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.66.
