Trunk or Treat to be held

HOISINGTON - All children in Hoisington are invited to Trunk 'n' Treat – a safe and friendly environment for trick or treating. This Halloween celebration will take place on Wednesday, October 31 between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Vine Street in Hoisington. The area will be blocked off, and car trunks will be decorated with Halloween themes and filled with treats for children in the community.

GBHS Debate places two teams and places fourth overall

The Great Bend High School Debate Team competed in their third tournament weekend of competition. They had five debate teams compete at the Buhler debate tournament on Saturday Oct. 13th. Two teams competed in the open division and three in the novice division. One open team placed and one novice team placed. In the open division Michael Gieck and Kameko Schultz placed second with a five and zero win loss record and twenty speaker points. "My partner and I did very well as a team together" Schultz stated.
