Most people tap their feet when they hear music, but some people make music by tapping their feet. As its second concert of the 2012-13 season, the Golden Belt Community Concert Association will present "TAP – The Show," celebrating the artistry of tap dance from around the globe.
A fund has been established to assist with the medical expenses for 10-year-old Kadin White, Great Bend, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia and will undergo two years of chemotherapy. He is the son of Dustin and Briana White and has two younger sisters, Kynslee and Kambryn.

"The camera is a GoPro Hero and was set to take a picture every five seconds," he said. "Over 300 pictures were taken. The little camera takes good resolution but the wide angle lens has considerable barrel distortion. I really have lots of fun playing with it though."
At their January meeting, 15 members of Great Bend Garden Club received a wealth of information about the work of a small group of people working hard for the betterment of Great Bend. Garden Club member Toni Rice is also a member of the Great Bend Tree Board and during her recent program Toni enthusiastically told the history of the Tree Board and of Great Bend's status as a Tree City USA.
HAYS - "The Waters of Kansas - Cheyenne Bottoms," the first film in a series of short documentaries on water in Kansas by the Kansas Natural Resource Council, will be screened at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, 10 miles northeast of Great Bend on K-156.
