Barton reports record enrollment

By Tribune staff Barton Community College's enrollment figures show an overall 8 percent increase for summer and fall 2010, college officials announced Friday. Boy dies in farm accident

A 7-year-old boy died after being run over by a tractor, Saturday afternoon northwest of Olmitz. Emergency vehicles were dispatched around 3:45 p.m. The Barton County Sheriff's Office reports the boy, whose name was not being released, died as a result of injuries from the farm accident. Emergency responders started cardiopulmonary resuscitation but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
