HORSESHOE BAY, Texas - Ruby Marie Mitchell, 85, passed away on Jan 21. She was born April 19, 1925 at Wilson, the daughter of Ruben and Lydia Nuss. She married George E. Mitchell in 1944. They celebrated 67 years of marriage and had four sons.

Driver of injury accident missing
Deputies found blood, but no driver, at the scene of an accident early Friday. According to a report from the Barton County Sheriff's Office, a gold, 1999 Chrysler Sebring was found on top of a rock pile on North U.S. 281 at mile marker 113, about 7.5 miles north of Great Bend. HMSI to hold meeting
HOISINGTON - In December, Hoisington Main Street Inc. mailed out a survey to solicit ideas regarding what people liked the least and best regarding Hoisington's downtown. It asked what types of businesses should be established and events to hold. The results of the survey will be presented at a community meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at the Hoisington Activity Center meeting room, 1200 Susank Rd. The meeting is open to everyone.
