Eric and Lisa Tolan announce the birth of their daughter, Alia Grace Tolan, on Jan. 4 in Bentonville, Ark. She weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19 1/2 in. long. She has two big brothers, 16-year-old Alexander Roberts and 18-month-old Awesome Tolan.
Great Bend High School senior, Nathan Brungardt, has attained Eagle Scout, the highest Boy Scout advancement. He joined Cub Scout Pack #157 in 2001 and in 2007 crossed over to Boy Scout Troop #157, led by Steve Divis. His Eagle Scout project consisted of converting an old mule barn at the Great Bend Zoo into an enclosed housing for the owls. All materials for his project were recycled or donated.
Lindsay Schartz, Vice-President of Farmers Bank and Trust, NA in Great Bend, recently completed the 2013 Bank Compliance School held on Feb. 3 - 8 in Topeka, Kansas. The Bank Compliance School is sponsored by the Kansas and Nebraska Bankers Associations and is endorsed by the West Virginia and Wyoming Bankers Associations.
Great Bend City Slicers 4-H Club met on Feb. 17 at the Pizza Hut. There were eight members, eight parents are four guests present. Members were reminded of 4-H Days on March 2. The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on March 14 at the old 4-H building.

The 33rd Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be the closing event of the 96th annual NFHS Summer Meeting.

Rosewood Ranch was a happening place Saturday, June 13, as dozens of energetic children were involved in fun ranch activities. The children and their families participated in the fifth annual "Kids Day at the Ranch," presented by Rosewood Services.

But her extensive career stretched beyond zany aliens and courageous canines. Her body of work includes some 200 stage, film, and TV roles – including two seasons on "Petticoat Junction" and numerous television guest-starring appearances since the 1950s. Westerns were among her favorites.
