Crime Stoppers is seeking information about two crimes that happened the same day at two locations in Great Bend. Police Chief Dean Akings said stolen items belonged to the same local business, Garb's Welding.

ALDEN - Representative Robert G. Bethell, 69, died May 20 in Topeka. Born Nov. 5, 1942, in Joliet, Ill., he was the son of George and Ann Bath Bethell. A resident of Alden since 1982, he was formerly of Siloam Springs, Ark. McPHERSON - Harry Leon "Papa Harry" Owen, 57, of McPherson, passed away on May 19 unexpectedly at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born on Dec. 27, 1954, in Great Bend, he was the son of William Emmett "Bill" and Glenda Vivian (Muench) Owen. He attended Great Bend grade schools and Great Bend High School. Currently working for Stanion Wholesale Electric Company of McPherson as a counter salesman, he had worked for them for over 22 years.
LA CROSSE - Creta Claudine Huddleston, 93, died May 21 at Rush County Nursing Home in LaCrosse. Born Dec. 13, 1918, in rural Alexander, she was the daughter of Claude T. and Creta Marie Wright Huddleston. For almost 35 years her home was at the Rush County Nursing Home in LaCrosse, moving from Pawnee Rock.
LARNED - Trevor Houston Greathouse, 18, passed away May 21. He was born Jan. 27, 1994, at Great Bend, the son of Randy Greathouse, and Sharon (Miller) and Ernie Boswell. A lifetime area resident, he was a student and recent graduate of Pawnee Heights High School.
