GREAT BEND - Funeral service for Jack Callaway will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Little River United Methodist Church, with pastor Theresa Forshee officiating. Burial will follow at the Bean Cemetery in Little River. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, with family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m., at Nicholson Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington and from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church Thursday. LARNED - Elsie R. Rankin, 94, died Jan. 24, 2012 at the Larned Health Care. Born July 29, 1917, in Johnstown, Penn., she was the daughter of Robert and Dorotha Cramer Cummins. She was an accounting bookkeeper. On July 20, 1935, she married Charles W. Rankin in Wheeling, W.V. He died on Nov. 11, 1997.
GREAT BEND - Betty L. Rajewski, 76, died Jan. 21 at her home in Great Bend. Born Feb. 16, 1935 in Hays, she was the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Gottschalk) Kronewitter. On Feb. 4, 1956 she married Marvin H. Rajewski in Schoenchen. A Great Bend resident since 1959, coming from Hays, she was a clerk at Dollar Tree and had been a cashier in the Barton Community College Cafeteria. She was also owner of Arrow Supply.
