NESS CITY - Terry Lee Henning, 53, passed away July 14, at the Ness County Hospital in Ness City. Born on Sept. 11, 1959 in Ransom, he was the son of Julius and Melva Rose Weber Henning. On April 27, 1985 he married Joby Wendler in Ness City. She survives. Terry worked in the oil field with CarMac Oil Service until 1987, then began work in the appraisal field. He was a county appraiser for Hodgeman, Rush, and Wilson Counties and was an appraisal consultant with McCully and Associates.
HOISINGTON - Gladys Voos, 86, died June 6, at Kansas Medical Center, Andover. Born May 4, 1927 in Hoisington, she was the daughter of Luther and Mary Elizabeth (Phillips) Marcum. On Feb. 12, 1948 she married Melvin Bates in Hoisington. He died on Oct. 15, 1958. On April 30, 1960 she married Ray Hartman in Hoisington. They later divorced. On Oct. 10, 1970 she married Melvin Voos in Hoisington. He died on Dec. 28, 1991. Gladys retired from being a care giver at the age of 84.
GARDEN CITY - Greg Biernacki, 59, died July 12 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. Born May 18, 1954 in Garden City, he was the son of Fred and Edna (Wright) Biernacki. On March 29, 1973 he married Diana Smith in Garden City. In 1973 he graduated from Garden City High School. He worked for Post & Brown Well Service which later became Post & Mastin Well Service for 23 years. In 2000 he and John Huber formed BHS Pumping, LLC which he has owned and operated since.
F. Robert "Bob" Kopke, 89, died July 13 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 3, 1923 in Great Bend, he was the son of Webster "Web" and Marie (McMurtry) Kopke. On Aug. 10, 1945 he married Norma Jean Gaunt in Great Bend. She survives. A graduate of the Wisconsin School of Banking, Mr. Kopke was a retired Installment Loan Officer of the Hutchinson National Bank.
