​Community churches sponsor fundraiser for Jacksons

There will be a spaghetti feed dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at the Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 2701 24th St., to raise funds for Pam and Edd Jackson. Freewill donations to help pay for Pam's medical expenses will be accepted, with matching funds provided by Thrivent Financial. This event is being coordinated by Trinity Lutheran, Central Baptist and First United Methodist churches of Great Bend.

Great Bend man flown to Wichita after rollover

Michael Allan Wilkerson, 30, of Great Bend, was flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita via air ambulance after a rollover accident at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday in Barton County, 1.5 miles north of Great Bend.

​Diana Collins 1955 - 2012

Diana Collins, 57, died Aug. 15 at her home in Great Bend. She was born Jan. 19, 1955, at San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Richard and Eulalia (Salazar) Mendez. She married Dickey Collins on Jan. 13, 1973, at Syracuse. They later divorced.

Boehner, Netanyahu Helping Iran

What would it look like if politics stopped at the water's edge?
