​New divorce support group forming at First Southern Baptist in Great Bend

First Southern Baptist Church, 3301 19th St., Great Bend, is starting a divorce care support group. Meetings will be from 7-9 p.m. every Tuesday, starting Jan. 15. For more information call the church, 620-793-8444.

Area churches plan Christian Unity Service

The Barton County Association of Churches will offer a prayer service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan., 20 at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 24th and Washington St. in Great Bend. Each pastor in the 38 churches in Great Bend has received an invitation, sponsors said. The goal is to have at least one representative from every church.

'String Dudes' celebrate quarter century of music

The library of the Barton County Historical Museum will be anything but quiet on Wednesday, when the musical group Jody Adams & the StringDudes performs. This toe-tapping mix of folk-string-gospel-grass-acoustic music starts at 7 p.m. and is presented by the Barton County Arts Council and the Barton County Historical Society. Seats are $10 and will be sold at the door.
