WILLIAMSBURG, Iowa – Farm equipment company Kinze Manufacturing has added a new dealer to its distribution network. Kan Equipment Inc. is the new Kinze dealer in Kansas with two locations in Ellsworth and Herington, officials at the Iowa-based company announced Thursday.
The new surgeon at St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center knew what she wanted - a facility where she could practice general surgery, with a subspecialty in breast surgery.

HOISINGTON - The RSVP Thrift Store first opened for business in 2002 in downtown Hoisington. Earlier that summer, the Commission on Aging decided that a thrift store would be a good fund-raiser for RSVP and Hoisington was selected as the location since the Salvation Army already had a thrift store in Great Bend. Mary Lou Warren was director of RSVP at the time and Selma Webb was the Hoisington leader of the project.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. A hamburger-hotdog feed will be held Sun., Sept. 9 at the Hoisington Knights of Columbus, 114 N. Main, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. to benefit Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation. Suggested donation is $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. The meal includes: hamburger or hotdog, chips, (roasted corn if available), cookie, pop or water. The event is hosted by Friends of Kans for Kids. Proceeds will assist Barton County children living with cancer and their families.
For the third consecutive year, the Kansas House of Representatives will formally declare the month of April as Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month.

Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said a pursuit Wednesday evening in Great Bend started after a deputy saw motorist run a red light.
The 2015 Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo will be held Wednesday through Friday, April 8, 9, and 10, 2015 in Great Bend. The show is located at the Expo Complex west of town. The show hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 8th, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. on the 9th and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 10th with extended hours on Thursday.
