LARNED - Roberta Jane Grant, 78, dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 23 in Larned surrounded by family members. On Oct. 12, 1954 she married John Richard Grant in White Lake, S. D. Members of the Barton Community College cheer squad and basketball team lead the way through the Walmart parking lot Wednesday to unload Barton's bus that was filled with donated goods collected by the college to benefit the United Way "Stuff the Bus" campaign, which aims to collect donations of goods to help supply their 21 local agencies. Barton students and athletes helped transfer items from BCC's bus to the United Way's larger school bus. Executive Director of the United Way of Central Kansas Julie Bunger-Smith said the efforts by Barton were very beneficial to the campaign.

I'm worried about my country. I'm worried about a country that cares more about how much air was in a football than they do about the leader of the U.S. Senate lying about Mitt Romney on the Senate floor. Harry Reid said he had "inside information" that Mr. Romney had not been paying his taxes. Turned out to be a lie but Reid only shrugged and offered, "Romney didn't win did he?"
