New Life Drama Company coming to Church of Christ

New Life Drama Company will minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ through skit drama at Great Bend's Church of Christ, located at 12th and Stone. Pastor Chuck Marshall said the public is invited to the programs set for 7 p.m. Saturday, June 30, and 6 p.m. on July 1.

St. Patrick Church to change Sunday Mass time

Prince of Peace Parish is will experiment with a new time for Sunday Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4100 Broadway Ave. Instead of Masses at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., Mass will be held there at 9:30 a.m. from July 1 through Sept. 30, Father Reggie Urban said.

We need men of honor

CLAY CENTER – We are in the midst of an ongoing crisis within the ranks of our young men and what they are seeing is not inspiring them to become Men of Honor. Many are influenced by what they see in sports, music, television, movies and they are not seeing positive role models. Additionally, a growing number of young men, especially in our inner cities, are starved for good examples in their own home. Sadly, some just do not have a dad in their life. Indeed, a child who has grown up with a loving and honorable Father is blessed.

Thief pried open sun roof

Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a vehicular burglary that occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11 and 6:15 a.m. on June 12 at the Best Western Angus Inn, 2920 10th St. Police Chief Dean Akings said someone broke into a 2002 Hyundai by prying open the sun roof. "Taken was a Garmin GPS, a Nikon digital camera, a survival pack and the owner's manual for this vehicle. There was extensive damage to the car also," Akings said. "Loss was $3,500. Farm expo coming to town

The 2015 Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo will be held Wednesday through Friday, April 8, 9, and 10, 2015 in Great Bend. The show is located at the Expo Complex west of town. The show hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 8th, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. on the 9th and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 10th with extended hours on Thursday.
