Bernadine M. "Bert" Homolka, 90, died April 1 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 17, 1922 in Dubuque, she was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Feltes) Klusener. In May 1944, she married Leonard F. Homolka in Reno, Nev. He died on April 11, 2003. A resident of Great Bend most of her life, she was a homemaker.

CLAFLIN -The Central Plains Oiler music department had 24 students performing in Larned on Saturday, March 31 at the Regional Music Festival. Hog Feed planned at Immanuel United Church of Christ

Joseph F. Bunk 1947 - 2015

WICHITA - Joseph F. Bunk, 67, passed away Feb. 28. He was born July 14, 1947, in Great Bend, to Maurice and Mary (Kaechele) Bunk of Hoisington. In 1965, Joe graduated from Hoisington High School. After serving his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War, he attended Kansas State University and graduated with a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Accounting.

AUGUSTA - Victor L. Shumate, 64, died on March 12, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover. Born Jan. 4, 1951, in El Dorado, he was the son of Paul Bennett and Isa Lou (Gale) Shumate.
