KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher was apparently worried he would lose his baby and money to his longtime girlfriend before fatally shooting her and killing himself, according to newly released police reports.
A hit-and-run injury accident occurred at 12th and Williams St. at 9:20 a.m. Saturday. The man allegedly driving the vehicle that left the scene was southbound on Williams St. and ran a stop sign, striking a vehicle driven by Loretta K. Miller. He then left the area and parked at 1105 Morton St., then left on foot. The car was located at 9:26 a.m. Brass knuckles were found in the car and booked as evidence.
Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a burglary that occurred sometime between 8 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 3 at a used car lot located at 205 10th St. in Great Bend. Police Chief Dean Akings said four Duru brand tires, size 235/35/20, and four Vizzo 20-inch wheels were stolen from a vehicle parked in the lot. Loss was $1,520.
Barton Community College Phi Theta Kappa members Michelle Klepper of Ellinwood and Jeff Pike of Great Bend helped load and deliver more than 1,000 items collected for the Family Crisis Center of Great Bend last Tuesday, Dec. 11, as part of the Family Crisis Christmas Drive.
