New endowment benefits Locust Grove Village

The Golden Belt Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Locust Grove Village (formerly Rush County Nursing Home), has established a new endowment fund. Ellsworth Correctional Facility inmates show talent for theater

More than 130 people, mostly residents of the Ellsworth area, packed an auditorium recently for a dinner-theater performance of the comedy "The Ransom of Red Chief" this past weekend. But they weren't there to see some performance of a traveling drama troupe. Nor were they on hand to support members of the town in a community theater.

Pork Association sponsoring blood drive

For the second year, the Kansas Pork Association is sponsoring several blood drives throughout Kansas with a goal of collecting 150 pints of blood. Because each pint could help save up to three lives, up to 450 patients could benefit.

Heartland Farm offers spring blessings, open house

The Dominican Sisters of Peace invite the public to join them Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for their annual Spring Blessing free family fun event. Guided tours of the straw bale buildings, a labyrinth walk, and a tree planting are planned. Come visit the alpacas, including two-month old baby Joy. Drop in or stay for the whole day.
