B. Marie Schwartz, 82, died March 22 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. She was born April 16, 1929, at Liebenthal, the daughter of Alex and Mary (Doerfler) Pfeifer. She married Maurice C. Schwartz on July 29, 1947, at Liebenthal. She was a nurse's aide and volunteer at Central Kansas Medical Center. Mrs. Schwartz was a Great Bend resident most of her life, coming from Liebenthal.

HOISINGTON - Phyllis Y. Nulton, 80, died March 23 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born Jan. 12, 1932, at McAllen, Texas, the daughter of Pierce and Gertrude (Phillips) Wikoff. She married Tom Nulton on Oct. 21, 1951, at Hays. She worked in retail sales for Ann's Dress Shop in Hays and Verna's in Hoisington, and as an office manager for over 25 years at State Farm Insurance, Hoisington. She had been a Hoisington resident since 1967, coming from Hays.

Norbert Luebbers 1926 - 2012

ELLINWOOD - Norbert Luebbers, 86, died March 24 in Ellinwood. He was born April 24, 1926, is rural Barton County, the son of Henry and Josiphine Straub Luebbers. He married Anna Lee Kawasky Luebbers. An Ellinwood resident, he had worked as a pulling unit operator for Steven's Well Service until his retirement in 1988.

USD 428, Holy Family, Central Kansas Christian Academy and HeadStart Schools

The following meals will be served March 26 through March 30. The secondary schools also have available daily: Main dish second choices, chef's salad, combo lunches and choice of vegetables and dessert. The breakfast menu is offered only to students in USD 428. Menus are subject to change without notice. Milk served with all meals. All meals as offered meet USDA nutritional guidelines.

USD Board of Education meeting

USD Board of Education will meet at noon on Tuesday at Lincoln Elementary School, 5630 Broadway. Items on the agenda include a list of maintenance and grounds activities projects proposed for summer 2012. Lincoln Principal Laura Blevins and other staff members will share information regarding the academic programs and the school improvement efforts at Lincoln Elementary School.

The 2015 Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo will be held Wednesday through Friday, April 8, 9, and 10, 2015 in Great Bend. The show is located at the Expo Complex west of town. The show hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 8th, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. on the 9th and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 10th with extended hours on Thursday.
