Mary Ann Schreiber 1930 - 2012

HOISINGTON - Mary Ann Schreiber, 81, died April 7, 2012 at Sterling House in Great Bend. Born Sept. 12, 1930 in Brownell, she was the daughter of William Halbleib and Elvah Longstreth and Clyde Ricks. On Feb. 28, 1949 she married Richard J. Schreiber in Ransom. He died on July 4, 1994. She grew up in Brownell moving to Beaver in 1951 and later to Hoisington in 1998.

HMS KAYs to host Book Fair

HOISINGTON -D.E.A.R. Day is April 12. The acronym stands for Drop Everything And Read. The Hoisington Middle School KAYs will be sponsoring a book fair at the Hoisington Activity Center, 1200 Susank Rd., to celebrate the day. The public is invited to come see the display and purchase books and novelties on April 12 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from 3:30 to 8 p.m. on April 13. Harry Reid said he had "inside information" that Mr. Romney had not been paying his taxes. Turned out to be a lie but Reid only shrugged and offered, "Romney didn't win did he?"
