SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Former Miami coach Larry Coker said Wednesday that NCAA investigators haven't contacted him amid allegations that players on his Hurricanes teams were treated to sex parties, cars and lavish gifts from a booster who is now in prison.
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - The NCAA said Wednesday it has been investigating the relationship between a convicted Ponzi scheme artist and the University of Miami for five months, and the allegations - if true - show the need for "serious and fundamental change" in college sports.

TOPEKA –Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack Wednesday announced grants for more than 900 agricultural producers and rural small businesses across the country to implement renewable energy and energy efficiency measures in their operations, including two area farmers. Vilsack made the announcement as part of President Obama's rural economic bus tour in the Midwest where today he highlighted efforts underway to reduce our country's dependence on foreign oil, which will increase the economic competitiveness of rural America and promote job creation.

The Elks Lodge #1127 of Great Bend, had a project to help the Great Bend Elementary schools Art Department. Project chairmen were Bobbie King and Denise King. Elk's members were asked to bring art supplies. A total of $600 was raised for the schools.
