'TAP - The Show' celebrates artistry of tap dance

Most people tap their feet when they hear music, but some people make music by tapping their feet. As its second concert of the 2012-13 season, the Golden Belt Community Concert Association will present "TAP – The Show," celebrating the artistry of tap dance from around the globe.

Fund established for Kadin White

A fund has been established to assist with the medical expenses for 10-year-old Kadin White, Great Bend, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia and will undergo two years of chemotherapy. He is the son of Dustin and Briana White and has two younger sisters, Kynslee and Kambryn.

"The camera is a GoPro Hero and was set to take a picture every five seconds," he said. "Over 300 pictures were taken. The little camera takes good resolution but the wide angle lens has considerable barrel distortion. I really have lots of fun playing with it though."

Kasselman Farms holds fundraiser

CLAFLIN - Over 700 people enjoyed a perfect fall afternoon at the 7th Annual Fall Fun Festival for Kans for Kids. Kids of all ages played games, jumped and slid in two bounce houses, shot paintballs, rode wagons pulled by Clydsdales, visited the petting zoo, enjoyed rides in a 5-car-barrel train, had balloon hats and animals made by a clown, enjoyed meals and snacks and much more, and at the same time, helped raise funds for Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation.

Hoisington Jets participate in National 4-H projects

he Hoisington jets 4-H club met on Sunday, Sept. 24. Following a pot luck dinner, a formal meeting took place which included discussion of a number of items: fundraisers, community service opportunities, shooting sports, a public speaking contest, ski trip, Junior Leadership and an upcoming Achievement Banquet. Club officers for the new year were elected and include Tiffany Schneider, president; Kayla Reisner vice president; Kayliegh Bitter, secretary; and Noah Desmond, treasurer.
