Nathan Chlumsky of Larned and Michael Alnore of Rozel will be re-opening the Larned Family Israeli/Okinawan Kobra Kai Karate and Mixed Martial Arts Academy. Storm postpones games
The winter storm postponed all of the area high school basketball games on Tuesday night. Great Bend High School’s basketball teams are playing host to Western Athletic Conference foe Garden City on Friday night at Panther Fieldhouse. It will be Homecoming.

WICHITA - Christine M. Suchy, 93, died May 9th. A former resident of Great Bend, she was a retired Assistant Manager for Payless Shoes. Christine was an avid gardener and crafter. Her true love was Iris. In 2006 she had an Iris introduced in her honor. Her tenacity for getting through any struggle was her finest quality.

Library announces teen movie, free computer class
Great Bend Public Library will show "Annie" at the next Teen Movie Monday, 4 p.m. on May 20. The free movie is open to all students in grades 7-12. The library will have another free computer class at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21. The class will explain Goodreads, the largest world's largest website for readers and book recommendations. Rape reported in county
The Barton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a rape report. On Friday morning, a woman came to St. Rose Urgent Care and said she had been raped two days earlier. She said a man in a vehicle asked for directions then attacked her on a dirt road near the college (in the 100 block of SE 20 Ave. and NE 10 Road).
