Alva Otis Hite Jr. 1924 - 2012

DEERFIELD, Mo. - Alva Otis Hite Jr., 88, of Deerfield, Mo., died Sept. 17 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott. He was born May 22, 1924, at Fort Scott, the son of Alva Otis Sr. and Gladys Mae (Cox) Hite. He married Joyce Marie Larcom on May 3, 1952, in Fayetteville, Ark., and she preceded him in death Aug. 1, 1985. On Dec. 11, 1992, he married Neva Bunn, and she survives of the home.

ELLINWOOD - Reba N. Richter, 85, of Ellinwood, formerly of Great Bend, passed away at the Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood on Monday morning, Sept. 17. Born on July 21, 1927 in Great Bend, she was the daughter of James and Hazel (Selle) Christensen. She attended school in Great Bend, where she was a resident for most of her life. In 1955, she was united in marriage to Virgil Richter, they later divorced. ELLINWOOD - Jean Robinson, 98, died Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 2015, at Ellinwood District Hospital. Jean was a 70-year-plus resident of Ellinwood and was highly respected in the community. She was selected as parade Grand Marshal of the Ellinwood After Harvest Festival, was selected a "Distinguished Citizen" of the community and was awarded one of the Ellinwood Rotary Club's most prestigious awards, the Paul Harris Fellow.
