A rural Barton County man contacted the Barton County Sheriff's Office on Saturday to report an attempted fraud. He said he received a text that his Visa account had been "locked." He was given a number to call and was asked for secure information, which he did not provide. He also called his financial institution and was told nothing was wrong with his card.

A dozen riders from Rosewood Services participated in their final in-state horse show of the season in late July. The riders will close out their horse show season this month at the National Snaffle Bit Association World Championship Show in Tulsa, Okla.

Parents of the bride are Richard and Mary Lou Degenhardt of Hoisington. Parents of the groom are Deborah Farmer of Great Bend and the late Jerry Farmer. Grandparents of the bride are Margaret Ney of Hoisington and LeRoy and Marilyn Degenhardt of Great Bend. Grandparent of the groom is Louie Wintholz of Great Bend. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Kevin and Jamie Kreutzer announce the birth of their daughter, Kynslea Lane Kreutzer, on June 11, at Hutchinson Regional Hospital. She weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19 in. long. She has a four-year-old big brother, Jace Kreutzer.
