McPHERSON - The Wichita Children's Theatre brings a musical adaptation of "Little Red Riding Hood" to the McPherson Opera House stage on Saturday, June 8, at 10 and 11:30 a.m. In this musical, Little Red Riding Hood learns not to talk to strangers, and the wolf learns not to trick people. Thanks to a grant from the Waldhauer Education fund, admission is free for all ages.

Sunflower Electric Power Corporation announced that Brian Backes has joined the company as a Line Technician Apprentice III. Backes joined Sunflower on May 20. He will assist with inspection and repairs of transmission lines and substation sites under the direct supervision of a journey or higher level line technician.

USD 428 Great Bend School Food Service will offer the summer lunch program at Eisenhower, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Park, and Riley Elementary Schools. The program will run from June 1 through June 25, (Monday through Thursday). Breakfast is served at Park and Riley only. There is no charge for anyone age 1 through 18. Sites are open to all children regardless of where they attend school. Parents may eat with their children for $3.50 for lunch or $2 for breakfast. All food must be consumed on site.
