HOLYROOD - Grace Anna Mehl, 96, passed away Jan. 9, in Wilson. Born Oct. 14, 1918, in Claflin, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna (Lubinus) Soeken. On June 1, 1941, she married Harvey W. Mehl in Claflin. He preceded her in death in 2001. A lifetime resident of the Claflin, Holyrood, and Lorraine areas, she was a homemaker, farm wife, and nurse's aide at Ellsworth Hospital.
OLATHE - Rosaline M. Staab, 70, passed away Jan 10th. Born Jan. 15, 1944, in Hays, she was the daughter of to Alois and Domitilla (Befort) Pfannenstiel. She was 1962 graduate of Marian High School. On Oct. 5, 1963, she married Dennis C. Staab. They resided in Great Bend until 1999 when they relocated to Olathe. She was employed by Fuller Brush Company in Great Bend for 22 years and Olathe School District Food Production for the past 12 years.
DODGE CITY - Lori Ann Ostrander, 40, died Jan. 12, 2015, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on Nov. 19, 1974 at Larned, the daughter of Ronald Eugene and Judy Marie (Fuhrman) Ostrander.
Duane Alvin Potter, 94, died Jan. 10, 2015, at Hackensack, Minn. He was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Hugo, Colo., the son of Joseph Clinton and Elsa Patricia (Richardson) Potter. He grew up on a dairy farm and graduated from Hugo High School. He married Rosemary Weber on Nov. 18, 1943. After 69 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 2013. Barton County Office Buildings will be closed Monday, Jan. 19, for Martin Luther King Day. The Records Division of the Sheriff's Office and the Health Department will also be closed. The Landfill will only be open from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. that day. Emergency services will be in normal operation.

James J. Rossman, 86, of Albert, and Rachel D. Hill, 30, of Larned, were injured Friday when vehicles they were driving collided in Barton County. The accident occurred at 4:15 p.m.

Helen Marie Steincamp, 84, died Jan. 10, 2015, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. Born Oct. 12, 1930, at Redwing, she was the daughter of Joseph R. and Anna Marie (Proksch) Dietz. She was a 1948 graduate of Hoisington High School.
