Crime Stoppers of Barton County is seeking information about the theft of geothermal equipment from a work site in the 1400 block of SE 50 Road that occurred July 14 or 15. Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings, speaking for Crime Stoppers, said items taken include geo phones, a data box, cables and a battery. Loss was $3,160. HOLYROOD - Grace Anna Mehl, 96, passed away Jan. 9, in Wilson. Born Oct. 14, 1918, in Claflin, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna (Lubinus) Soeken. On June 1, 1941, she married Harvey W. Mehl in Claflin. He preceded her in death in 2001. A lifetime resident of the Claflin, Holyrood, and Lorraine areas, she was a homemaker, farm wife, and nurse's aide at Ellsworth Hospital.

Wow! Writing 2015 on correspondence is taking some getting used to. It does not seem like it has been that many years since we celebrated the arrival of a new century.
