This year's theme for Great Bend's Home for the Holiday's Christmas Parade is "Let it Snow." The parade is just one of more than a dozen activities taking place this Saturday. Here is the schedule of events:
TOPEKA - A shopping cart may not seem dangerous, but more than 20,000 children under 5 years old suffered cart injuries each year, according to Safe Kids Kansas.
Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice (GBHH&H) will offer a free community program, "Getting Through the Holidays When a Loved One Has Died." It is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 in the Thelma Faye Harms Room in the basement level of St. Rose Ambulatory and Surgery Center in Great Bend.
Great Bend Public Library, 1409 Williams St., will be showing free holiday movies on Dec. 2 and 3.
DETROIT (AP) - Aaron Rodgers took every hit the Detroit Lions could dish out.
ARLINGTON, Texas - Win big, win small; win pretty, win ugly. Tony Romo learned a long time ago that victories are the only thing that matter in the NFL.
BALTIMORE (AP) - John Harbaugh could have gloated. He could have bragged.
Travis Keen, 28, was arrested in Ouachita Parish, La., and charged with indecent exposure while driving around the parking lot at a Walmart. According to the police report, Keen explained that, based on experience, "when he comes to Walmart, he gets aroused."
"Do you know what I want to be when I grow up, Daddy?"
HOLLYWOOD - God bless America, and how's everybody?
NEW YORK (AP) - Dayton Moore thought about the changes in baseball's new labor deal and wondered how they would impact the Kansas City Royals, who spent more than $14 million this year to sign amateur talent, nearly half as much as the team's $36 million opening-day payroll.
LAHAINA, Hawai - Kansas didn't expect the first 3-pointer from Tyler Thornton. The Jayhawks couldn't believe his second long jumper.
HAYS - Louise Rohr, 99, Hays, died Friday, July 4, at the Hays Good Samaritan Society.
TULSA, Okla. - Emanuel Boger, 95, died July 7, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Okla.
Thaine "T. C." Francis, 85, died July 7 at Catholic Care, Bel Aire. Born Dec. 21, 1928, at Hudson, he was the son of Leslie and Lucille (Jones) Francis.
