Kopke 50th

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Kopke will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Nov. 22 with a family dinner. Later they will celebrate with a travel group cruising the Blue Danube River and visiting the Christmas Markets of Europe. The couple has two daughters, Cheryl Reinert of Great Bend, and Merritt Kopke of Godfrey, Ill.; and one grandchild, Logan Reinert of Manhattan.

Desk and Derrick members travel to St. Louis

ADDC President Angie Duplessis invited members to "Meet in St Louis" with her theme--"Gateway to Growth and Opportunity". Business meetings were held at the Hyatt Riverfront Hotel just across the street from the Arch and a few blocks away from the Cardinals stadium. The city of St. Louis offered many world famous attractions, amusements, restaurants and shopping for club members to enjoy while furthering their education with field trips and seminars pertaining to the energy industry. There were 64 Desk and Derrick clubs located throughout the United States and Canada represented at this annual meeting where officers for 2012 ...

Grant provides aid to FHSU 
Transition to Teaching Program

The Transition to Teaching Program at Fort Hays State University was recently awarded a five-year sub-award totaling more than $400,000. The sub-award is a component of Ohio State University's $5 million grant to build a network of partner universities that will support alternative licensure.

MSGT Jack Willenberg retires from Kansas Air National Guard

Jack Willenberg, MSGT, retired from the Kansas Air National Guard on Nov. 5 after 20 years of service. The ceremony was held at McConnell Air Force base in Wichita. With family and friends with him, he was honored with several service awards.
